Wanted to share pictures of the latest 2 knives I have been working on. Let me know what you think good or bad because I am new to knife making and Im always looking for comments to improve upon.

First is a Alberta style hunter with O1 tool steel and 1/4" brass pins with some of Burl Source's Red Eye Maple Burl. The sheath I made is for small of the back carry right hand draw.

Next is a little damascus skinner with green liners and Walnut that I also got from Burl Source. I used SS 1/4" pins and SS tube. I made a inside the waist band sheath for this one.

I like them both. Totally different styles. What did you use to make the damascus?

Deloid, the damascus is 1095 and 15n20 but I didnt make it. I'm just a beginner and on the damascus knife I bought it from Two Finger. Maybe one day I will try my hand at making my own as funds allow to keep adding to my tools. I just finished up my real grinder so when the wife gets over that one I will be adding a forge to the mix.

Your sheaths are fantastic. I love that texturing you do, but I'd be seriously afraid to use either one of those bits of leather for fear of making them all grungy. Work like that is just too pretty, imo, for going on my belt. Of course, if I didn't sweat like a stuck pig....

Both knives show a high level of fit and finish. The first knife is a bit thin in the handle for my tastes and doesn't have enough of a speed bump to prevent my hand from sliding up on to the blade. I've skinned a few deer and am now a fan of a pronounced stop between me and the edge!

That damascus blade is almost perfect for me. I like the compactness and handle shape. Wonder how it would be at whittling around the campfire?

And to repeat myself, that is some seriously sweet leather!
