Sharp Grind Lines

Hey everyone, my pheer 454 just arrived and I immediately jumped into my next knife project because I just had to test it out. Absolutely amazing! I’m doing a small edc knife with a flat grind and I was struggling to get my grind lines sharp. I used to have this problem with my smaller grinder but realized it was because my belts were too worn to produce a sharp line. Knowing this, I switched to a brand new 80 grit when I was close to my scribe line in order to get the grind sharp, but it still didn’t get it sharp. I don’t know if this was something wrong with my technique or maybe the belts I had were cheap? Not sure. I really don’t think it was the wear on the belt— I had literally just put it on.
Any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Post a picture.

Chances are you are not applying consistent even pressure on the blade where it contacts the platen.

i use flickr photo hosting. i dont think a belt can change the sharpness of the transitions. its how the blade is applied to the belt. you need to keep a consistent angle to have crisp lines.
