I have not reprofiled it. I wonder if you can "curve" the tip some without hurting the temper? I would be scared to try it myself.

That would be an idea (not one I'm willing to try though), but it brings up a good point (pun intended) that a more "utilitarian" tip design would be a great idead for this folder. About the only thing a straight-edged tanto gives me is simple straight edges to ease sharpening some. I guess it's more of a psychological preference since it was used to succesfully skin a deer, just not something I would normally carry with me hunting or outdoors. Regardless, It's a unique design that works well for the job I need it to perform in.
