Sharpened my AG S30V

I use the Lansky also, regular stones. I use mainly 25deg for all of my knives. One thing I have noticed is besides changing the profile of the edge slightly from factory, you have to try to put the sharpener guide on the blade in the same spot every time, or every time you sharpen you are changing the profile of the blade slightly every time. To make sure I have the guide in the right spot every time, I have some of my beater knives marked so I put the guide back on the same place every time.

Just cause I like to spend money, I was looking at the Apex pro sharpener.

Sory for my spelling ,i spilled soda in th keyboard and now things are sticky, really gotta pound the keys to make the letters appear.lol, great idea marking the blades so you keep with the same edge each time, how do you like your knives of alaska knife?

I do woodworking and use a lot of planes and chisels. I bought a wetstone sharpening system to keep the plane irons and chisels sharp and so I simply bought a small knife attachment for it ($29.95) and it makes keeping a shaving sharp edge very easy. It has an aluminum oxide wheel and a leather stropping wheel. It runs at about 180 RPM. Does a great job.

The thing is made from 1/4" D2 so when I changed the edge profile, it took FOREVER!! I still have one spot about 1/8" long on the tip that isn't quite right yet. I did kinda go overboard with the marking. I couldve been better off with a pair of dots marking the guide corners.

The knife rocks! The knife has weight to it, and the rubber handle is nice. KOA has a set with that skinner, and a boning knife in Stag, kinda nice.
