I butchered myself for about a year while learning to whittle and now have numb/tender spots all over my hands....and one leg :-/

Weird, that ive never cut myself with a knife. Came close plenty of times, but only the most unsuspected things seem to do it. You know, plastic packaging, aluminum, paper products.

I think it's been about 13 years since I cut myself with a knife. The last time I did, it was my other thumb and it got 6 stitches.

I think it's strange that it still hasn't hurt yet.

But speaking of pain, I almost LOLed at the ER last night. This lady came in for chest pain, she was talking fine and smiling, when they asked her what her pain was on a scale of 1-10, she said 10.

Sorry to hear you lost a leg while whittling. May I ask what knife you were using?

Maybe I should have clarified.
I was whittling in a chair, stood up with opened slipjoint in my lap, and a clip pt fell and sliced me open just below the knee.
And the knife was a Frontier lg Stockman with yellow scales. Great hand me down from my grandfather.

However stupid this might sound i cut myself every other day by accident,and 1 of my favourite games is the 5 finger fillet,so cuts dont bother me at all anymore.

I think we all feel your pain on that one! At least it was a nice clean slice, that should heal up great.

I once took a 1/4" x 1 -1/2" slice off skin off my index finger while whittling. That one left a scar haha.
