Sharpened pry bar

becker and busse are both good, a john greco custom is pretty good too especially for the $$ though they dont seem as cheap as a few yrs ago,

Ranger Knives are the way to go! You could get a fully customized (full flat grind, thinned edge, your choice of handle material) RD-6 for about 150. I got my RD-4 for 125 and over the months it has proven to be worth many times more than that.

Justin's knife was waiting for me when I got home from out of town today. I'm really impressed and will acquire more of his work (probably a longer blade). Hard to believe the low price. He's great to deal with and made exactly what I asked for in no time. Highly recommend Ranger Knives!

Some of the knives suggested here aren't actually in the 4-6" range. If you want to stay in that range, under $150 get a Ranger RD6 and over $150 get a Busse Badger Attack [BATAC].

I'll have to try and post a picture I took when I received it (hard to do here in Iraq), but I had Justin make me just such a thing. It's 5160, about 5/16th inch thick with a chisel tip. It's strictly for all the nasty tasks. I've dug into the sand to dig up and cut field wire, demolished several junk-piled wood benches/chairs, etc. and used it to cut through sandbags to remove some older fighting positions. It's been used pretty hard and is holding up very well. For a custom for your specific needs, you won't find too many out there to get you want you need for a very reasonable price. Do take note that Justin's work is a littel "rough-around-the-edges", but this has zero impact on performance. If you're looking for a user, I fully recommend him.
