Yup, for around $30, I'd do this. It's a huge step up if you really need full profile sharpening. But it's still a good thing to have a croc stick style box around when you don't want/need to remove much metal. I prefer the Sharpmaker for that. Their ceramic rods are high quality and the box is very versatile.
But starting somewhere is the first step. You can improve an edge with any of the brands listed above. And if you really get into perfecting your edges, you can always try something different down the road, but with more knowledge under your belt.
