Sharpening a Fiskars?

Like many of the posters before, a file followed by a couple sharpening stones worked well.

I was amazed at how much softer the steel is on an axe. Makes sense if you slip and hit a rock or run into a buried nail.

This is what I did - and I was amazed at how quickly I could sharpen the axe - however it seemed to hold the edge well.

I've always used the "puck" sharpening stone from lansky for mine.. It works great and keeps a great edge..

The Puck is one I wanted to see about.

I think I could use it for my Scandi ground knives in the field if needed too.

Fine ceramic rod to keep the edge in shape. DMT Extra Course for thinning out the bevel. DMT folding coarse / fine sharpener in the field, though I only use the fine since I don't chop rocks

Get a nice shaving sharp edge on it and they cut quite well even with the factory bevel.
