Sharpening a Groove

Cool you got it figured out, but what are you doing here?!? This is bat country!!

:D
Terrible things were happening all around us. Right next to me a huge reptile was gnawing on a woman’s neck, the carpet was a blood-soaked sponge -- impossible to walk on it, no footing at all. “Order some golf shoes,” I whispered. “Otherwise, we’ll never get out of this place alive. You notice these lizards don’t have any trouble moving around in this muck -- that’s because they have claws on their feet.”

:p

"There was every reason to believe I was heading for trouble, that I'd pushed my luck a bit far. I'd abused every rule Vegas lived by—burning the locals, abusing the tourists, terrifying the help. The only hope now, I felt, was the possibility that we'd gone to such excess, with our gig, that nobody in a position to bring the hammer down on us could possibly believe it . . . When you bring an act into this town, you want to bring it in heavy. Don't waste any time with cheap shucks and misdemeanors. Go straight for the jugular. Get right into felonies. The mentality of Las Vegas is so grossly atavistic that a really massive crime often slips by unrecognized."

Sorry didn't mean to turn this thread into a traiwreck

No Don was just afraid the HST quotes would lead this thread down the merry path. I have been lurking here almost a year hate to turn my 1st thread into "family bidness". I hate fishes :D

Meh, you can never have too many Fear and Loathing quotes. The book will remain, even after all the movies have faded into oblivion.

"I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence or insanity but they've always worked for me" -- Hunter S. Thompson (1937 – 2005)

(This quote hangs on my wall at work)

Yeah great book I just loaned my out to my boss at work if I still have a job left lol I'll see what he thinks. Now back to the HST quotes "You better take care of me, Lord. If you don't you're gonna have me on your hands". I always kinda liked that one

"When the white rabbit peaks, throw the radio in the bath tub. WHITE RABBIT! WHITE RABBIT!"

That song has always given me a dose of the creeps since reading the book. How about this one to keep it "knife related" "You can turn your back on a person, but never turn your back on a drug, especially when its waving a razor sharp hunting knife in your eye."

Another HST knife quote:

"Have an objective to give your bender a theme. For instance, stalking and killing a wild pig with a bowie knife." -- Hunter S. Thompson (advice on 'adventure' in Men's Journal)

And then there's his knife-related graphic:

Great quote riffraff never heard that one before, sounds like something the good Doctor would say and do, with a head load of acid . Hard to imagine him doing it without a HUGE gun though he was just that kinda guy.

"America... just a nation of two hundred million used car salesmen with all the money we need to buy guns and no qualms about killing anybody else in the world who tries to make us uncomfortable." :D
