In that case, it should be fine as long as you don't apply pressure any more than the weight of the stone/handle.

Cool, yes I’m pretty gentle with it, but you did remind me about my first PM2 / edge pro sharpening experience where I thought I was going to rest the FFG on the stage. Oh my god what a mess lol
