Just picture 13 to 15 degrees for the final strop angle...remember...it's convex. If you do the right technique and keep "messing up" the angle...you have a sharp convex.
Sat...all I know is that the bar of green I got is *not* what I wanted. I have to cut and splice about 1/2 inch out of my leather to get it back to the right length. I have a new source (very limited) that is purely wax based...no petroleum product in it.
I'm too ornery to use sandpaper/mousepad. It works but I am stubborn and like using stones with no oil.
220 grit stone- I use the thin side to easily get all the kukri curves. Get a burr, flip, get a burr, break the wire edge.

My M43 is now fit for service.
You can use water on the translucent Arkansas stone - I do. It is actually recommended by Norton- or was in the past. You just need to be sure to let the stone dry before putting it away, and oil the steel.
