Sharpening notch, tell me why you like or dislike them

When using a 4" blade, I've never noticed the missing 1/64" of sharp edge. Even less with a 5"-7" blade.
Perhaps I'd feel the loss with a 3" blade. After all, 1/64 of an inch is pretty big. But... no notch for me, thanks.
