Sharpening re-profiled edge on a 3 dot 112 S30V blade

Wow! Your naming some good steels here. Plus, wrote a good story. The steel you name (CPM-154) Buck used exclusively on their 110 model for Bass Pro and it does have a brass frame w/ rosewood handle and it has a black coating on the blade. To my knowledge thats the only model that has that steel. In my opinion thats a great steel for much of general cutting chores as it does so much well. A good stainless, holds a very good edge, easy to sharpen and of powder metallurgy. It would not be my first choice for a hard use camp knife. I have some of that steel in my inventory and I can say it grinds clean, takes a nice mirror polish and not tricky to heat treat. Feedback has been good from it. You may have to look long to find one. Good luck, DM

well yes we all here are glade to meet you!
and most times any questions will get answers fairly quick
ditto on the cpm 154 it is good and you can still find them on the flea bay
some times i am not sure on the younger users ( under 30) how they feel on old time style
so many have gone to the modern look on knives that ... well the 110 is classic design
one often not seen is the liner lock 110 but uniue in the 110 style ...

like i said look around for a 186 which you can change the blade on your self
or the 560 which is modern tach styleing touchs to the 110 style

my daughter has goten a few of the 111 classics from me
she likes sharp thing also...but she dont know steels at all
i got her a set of swiss army brand(?) kitchen knives and she marvles at how much better they work
and her hubby has cut himself a few times with them!
ciao
