What sharpening setup are yall using these days? I mounted a Smith stone with carbide blades to my workshop table several years ago and it works well, as long as I can maintain my angle. I tried out a Works Sharp last week at Cabelas and it worked nicely at removing a burr on my Benchmade Axis.
Just curious what everyone else is doing for their EDC knives

Freehand, Sharpmaker, edge pro clone for V edges. Sandpaper on mousepads or phone books for convex.

I used standard "Arkansas" whetstones, with oil, for many years. However, for Xmas this year, I got a Spyderco sharpmaker. So far, it seems like a pretty good system, and quite versatile.

KME has turned out to be one of the most versatile systems for the money. With the diamond stones reprofiling is much easier. It has a learning curve and you should get a few needed items to make it consistent but overall I really like it.

Carbide sharpeners are typically very bad for an edge, FYI.

I use lots of different waterstones but as of recent I have been building a Shapton set with accessories.

What are the "few needed items" you would recommend with the KME?
