Some stropping with green compound smoothes the edge out, some of the tooth can be left for slicing. Probably be a breeze with one of the more agressive compounds.

For some reason, these rods are the most confusing as to grit. I've seen ones called "fine" and "coarse" for sale, and some talk about a 600 grit one. Dunno if that's the same scale as sandpaper, and "fine" or "coarse" don't mean a thing without a reference, which may just be the other kind of ceramic rod. Of course, all these other rods cost 10X and more what Ragnar asks for his plain rods without handles. For what it's worth, Ragnar characterized the rods as "fine" and the Viking stones as "extra, extra fine".
