I have some micro chipping on the front edge of my infi.
I am planning to sharpen it. What kind of sharpening system do you suggest me to use?

That chipping is so minimal you can pretty much use anything you want to sharpen it. I use a Wicked Edge myself.

I agree with above , maybe try a ceramic rod or strope.

What knife is that ? Just curious

I can't help having a guess; it's tricky from that angle but I think it's a Nuclear MOASH... am I right, erto?

As to the sharpening, I would just steel it (or ceramic rod) and hold off the grinding until it really needs it. Infi responds remarkably well to that.

If you aren't going to use it and just want the edge perfect, any system. I use Edge Pro when I want to reset a flat bevel.

Sandpaper and a phone book, notepad, or any stack of any paper really. Then just strop away from the cutting edge until you can cut holes in timespace. Shouldn't take more than a few minutes.

I've even taped sandpaper down to a flat piece of granite tile and used it as if it were a stone. Very effective either way because infi is easy to sharpen.

It's a Tiger hide NMoash . You can tell by the enormous slabs of machined TH micarta. Leave it alone unless you're going to use it. If it's a safe queen leave it alone. Just my .02

My guess is it's like the top one FullSizeRender.jpg

Yes you are right. It is a NMOASH! and thanks for the sharpening advises.

I use the Russian TSProf sharpener for most and my Worksharp KO for others.
I was searching for Worksharp KO and probably I will end up buying it.
It looks very good sharpener to put convex edge on. Only I am not planning to use it for such a safe queen!

I have to say for me I'd leave it be and tuck it away. Maybe just find a NMFSH combat grade to use ?
That's a real beauty !!!! Congrats
Thanks for the pics

Belt grinding with a worksharp is a great way to take a lot of steel off... I've seen people recurve blades pretty badly... you can't put it back on. Paper wheels would be a better option if you go that way.

If it's a safe queen, I wouldn't touch it. I don't do safe queens myself, but if I was to buy one, I would rather have your micro chips as-is than a blade that's been 'repaired' in any way.

Absolutely stunning knife, by the way. Can't go wrong with any FSH variant.

I own a Wicked Edge and use it well. I can also use ......
The curb.
A rock.
Edge of your car window.
My pants.
A belt with polishing compound.
Oh, and a mini pocket wet stone.

You get the point, for a user, whatever works.
For a safe queen, I wouldn't touch it or I'd send it to Garth.

Freehand it out and then flog it thru some hard timber. Put it away dirty. Make that knife yours.
