Sharpening system recomendations?

I have owned several. The Edge pro Apex which is awesome when using your dominant hand. No so with you other hand. KME which is nice especially for small knives. I now use a TSPROF KO2 and absolutely love it. With all attachments and 3 dozen different stones. My options are limitless. Not cheap but outstanding.

Diamond hones can be used on any steel. I prefer DMTs but YMMV. Sharpening freehand using an angle guide when necessary works for me -- the various systems all seem clumsy and restrictive IMHO.

It seems that many of the major makers will sharpen/spa for free or small charge. Even with the postage this seems more economical and you get a factory like edge. I still like free hand stone sharpening but for an expensive folder sending it to the maker makes sense to me.

I have a Hapstone I got off Massdrop. It works pretty well, is basically stone-agnostic. I use an angle cube with it. I have had some trouble with traditional blades, but they are releasing a rotating clamp that would address the issues. Pretty robust system.
