This was my first attempt at sh

arpening an axe. I found this Swedish sandvik in the bottle of a bucket at a local flea market without a handle. I done this mess with a double cut file, Arkansas stone and a leather strop...

Beauty of an edge. How did you get it so shiny? Is that from the strop?

Use a Gransfors puck and then strop.

It is from the strop... This was my first attempt at sharpening and "restoring" an axe. I'm in the process of taking the sandvik apart and starting over. I hate the paint, and I also want to try and thin it out just a bit... I'll try to post pics when its finished. Anyone know how to post pics from Flickr without using a link like above?

The reply box has an icon for "Image". If you click on that you'll get a popup asking for the URL of the image. I right-clicked on your Flickr photo, then clicked on "Properties" to see the URL of the .jpg photo, and I put it in below:
