i couldnt find a sharpening section so my apologies. im new to this hobby and was wondering any recommendations on sharpening stones. so far ive found these but thats about it

those work, I'd recommend the Worksharp GSS for less money and more abrasive options, it also can help you get started on learning freehand.

I have the GSS and I like the system. I've had it for about a year and half now. No problems with it at all. I plan on moving to a higher end stone set or possibly a wicked edge system. But I like free hand sharpening usually.

^ Nice, my favorite edge is to take the guides off and do 15dps on the coarse to a burr, light deburr on the fine and final deburr with alternating passes on the ceramic. Smokin' edge, very crisp and aggressive.

I really like to follow that up with a loaded strop.
