Sharpening

Just finished my first two knives that are entirely my own. Well, almost anyway. I know there must be a thread already for this, but I cant seem to find it.

What I am wondering is, since these whrere my first two blades, the edge is not even all the way to the point. Is this going to cause a problem in sharpening?

I keep walking down to the grinder and looking at it, but I'm scared to death to lay my blade to the belt. lol. after I get it close to sharp what do I do? Go to a lansky? I know alot of you guys just use your grinders, so any help would be greatly appriciated.

Also I cant find the link on how to post a pic, so if anyone can help me out with that, I'd appriciate it. Cant wait to post the pics, so you real knifemakers can tear it apart.

welcome to the forums david. did you heat treat the blades yet or have you already done that and are now ready to sharpen them? i just want to make sure you're ready to sharpen the knives. to post picks you need to join a photo hosting site. i seen a thread yesterday that suggested a spyware free site but i cant remember which one. i see you are from ohio also.
