  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Sharpening

i have many systems, from mouse pad and sandpaper/glass (need to get a strop/rouge) to the spyderco system (decades old), to ceramic bench stones (REALLY nice for touchups), and would like a KMG :>

recently, i got an Edge Pro, which i like a lot, esp for good fiddly knives

i also got a work-sharp, which is great for my choppers, convexed edges. nice nice nice. get some extra belts. learn to use it, careful of tip rounding (unless you want that, i did on one knife)

Pic is really bad.

Man, I'm definitely in the minority here - I don't own a sharpening "system". My "sharpening system" consists of a Norton Coarse/Fine India stone, a medium and a fine Arkansas stones. Whe I want to get real fancy (which, most of the time I don't bother with) I'll then strop with a belt charged with green compound. If I have a convexed blade, I'll do the sandpaper and mouse pad trick.

Sometimes I just sharpen on the bottom of a ceramic coffee mug. Life's too short to get uptight about sharpening.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I walked into Bass Pro last night and they happen to carry the Lansky kits so I picked one of them up
