sharper - Danny kirkpatrick -bad- check bounced

Danny Kirkpatrick of Marble Hill, Mo sent me two
checks to participate in lotto passarounds. I tried
to cash one of them (for $13 ) and it got returned
to me for insufficient funds. My bank charged a $3
return fee, and I sent $1 back to him because the
passaround was only $12

The number he gave me in email and on the check is
the right city but it's not the kirkpatrick for the passaround.

So I'm only out $4, but it's wasted alot of my time.
 
I'm not sure I understand this. Maybe I'm being thick, but it sounds to me like you called the phone number he gave you and got somebody named Kirkpatrick but it wasn't Danny? So you decided he'd ripped you off and you'd better post a warning about him?

Sounds a little premature, but maybe I'm missing something....
 
Actually I think it wasn't a kirkpatrick that answered the phone. I think I misunderstood and that he knew the kirkpatricks, was unsure of the two first names I had.

But yes I thought it worthwhile to post a warning, he's cost me $4 and a bunch of time and a tongue lashing from the wife who thinks I'm stupid to do passarounds. Hard to put a dollar figure on the last two though.

The passarounds that Dave coordinates present a great opportunity to use and evaluate knives and in one case an Apex pro.

It would be terribly unfair if Danny did what he did in an attempt to rip off Dave.

In the Apex passaround, Dave used out of pocket money to get the ball rolling and I would imagine he does so in most cases.

I hope Danny straightens this out, even if it is just $4.00
 
TOB9595 is in contact with his wife. There's a different number
and address then the one I had. No news yet.

Danny called and apologized for the mistake.
