Well I got my Sharpmaker yesterday and played with it most of the night.
It is a pretty slick design how everything fits in it and so forth, very ingenious.
I am still learning with it and have gotten some pretty good edges with it but can't seem to get the tips of our dull Henkels knives sharp with it.
I think they need to have the edge redone and this system is not aggressive enough for that. Maybe when my Razor Edge Systems kit gets here next week I can resharpen the tips better.

You might consider aquiring the diamonds hone triangles for the sharpmaker. They are excellent quality and not too coarse.

In my view the sharpmaker as an all around sharpener is not complete without them, or some other coarse hone. This is especially true of older, abused blades.

Although it will do a great job 'as is' maintaining already sharp, or new knives, and for general touch up work.

Your Razor's edge kit with a coarse hone should perform such work, as well.
