Need info please. I am not a collector my any means and have inherated many knives. In researcing the knifes i cant seem to find this knife. I know this knife is different from other Shaw-Lebowitz Elephant designs on the blade. Does any one know about it? it's a 163 of 300,5 dot 6250, case. Just how rare is it. Thanks

The numbering (163 of 300) would suggest that there were 300 made with that particular elephant engraving.

Here's number 21.

This knife has the same elephant engraving, but a more elaborate overall design, and no gold. It's numbered 99/300. So perhaps not all of the 300 had the exact same design and the gold.

Is it inapropriate to ask , very roughly , what the nongold one sells for in user condition ?
I am going to buy a "Real" vintage Elepahant toe one of these years and want to know what to brace my self for .

I have no idea what the knives in this thread sell for. There were no prices to go with the pictures. These were the only two with the Shaw/Leibowitz elephant design I could find using two search engines.

There are several Case XX 6250's currently for sale on ebay listed at a range of prices with a variety of handles. Several have the more common standing elephant engraving, but none have the Shaw/Leibowitz elephant shown in this thread.
