So I've started my little review. This first part will be comparison pics and initial impressions of the knives. I originally intended to compare Mulders A2 and my INFI SHBAs with the Horton pictured below, but I just sold it earlier today and don't want to mess with my buyer's new knife:
Here are some comparison pics:
The A2 SHBA is .29 thick, has solid pins, and mild contouring in the scales, which appear to be polished and give the micarta more contrast and whole knife a really nice look. I imagine the solid pins must ad some weight because my INFI SHBA, at .31 thick, using hollow brass tubes and non-contoured micarta scales feels the same, if not a little bit lighter. I would need a scale to really know because they feel the so similar and I don't have a good one here at my family's house. Both balance at right around the same point, on the back border of the tube/pin closest to the ricasso. I LOVE the ergonomics of this knife. The handle is comfortable in every grip I can think of trying. The blade is wide enough to hold near the tip for real fine work. The small choil allows the hand to rest pretty close to the cutting edge, and doesn't interfere with close cutting the way a full size choil would on a similarly sized knife...my guess is that the small choil could also work well as a fire steel striker in the same way people use it on the older Basic models although I haven't tried that yet. As others have pointed out, a rear-ward grip, or two finger grip for chopping also looks like it would work (aided with the lanyard's sense of security), especially since this little knife has some good weight behind it.
I like the look and feel of the contoured micarta scales, so much so that I thought about sending mine to Garth for the same work, but after further handling, I ultimately decided I like the feel of the non-contoured scales a little more for this handle shape. They fill my hand perfectly and I think it would feel better for longer term use...however this is a very individual thing, so ymmv

On a larger, wider chopper handle or knife in the 7" and up range, I generally prefer the hand shaped scales.
As far as use, all I did this evening was a quick shaving test. Mulder's SHBA came to me pretty sharp, shaving sharp. However my SHBA has just received a convex edge from Ban and is screaming, stupid sharp right now. The results reflected that. The little section where I used Mulder's SHBA did take off a good amount of hair, but I couldn't get as close of a shave and it took a few more passes to really clean the area up. Mine shaved much closer and pretty much had its area cleared in two passes, with a third one just to get a couple stray hairs...

after: the area closest to the camera was done with my SHBA, the smaller area to the rear by Mulder's
Light started to run out, so I'll resume testing tomorrow afternoon. Looking around the side of my house, I found the following which will make a good starting point:
Forgive the cell phone pics, luckily they didn't come out too bad...
If you have any requests let me know and I'll try to get it done.
