She Aint Pretty... (Glock content)

Look into the contoured mag caps, adds another figure groove for a more secure grip/feel!!!

got one fom Pearce, and it does feel really nice. It'll definitely get the nod for when I use this as a woods back-up

A face only a mother could love...

Do yourself a favor and get one of these... http://www.ghostinc.com/product/GHO_UTK/35_Ultimate_Trigger_Kit.html

It is a trigger kit that will reduce and improve the trigger pull. I do this to all my glocks because the factory pull is not conducive to accuracy (for me anyway...). It drops right in with very little work.

Got one sitting here in a package from midway, we're supposed to do the install friday

The trigger did feel inconsistent to me, not just gritty, but actually lighter at times, heavier at others??? Will this even it out a bit?

I liked the simplicity/overall concept of the Glock, but they didn't fit my hand at all. I had to readjust my grip every time after the draw to point it. How does it point for you?

Yep, definitely point high... That's why Jason is recommending the mod work by boresight solutions... I'm sure thinkng about it.

But I'm also wondering if I'll get used to it eventually, if i really put some effort into practicing with it.

Congrats Eli - You move fast Brother

Much Respect for the 10mm - I'm a huge fan

Oh yeah... I've done the 3.5 disconnector on all my glocks. If you do the reduced springs and the 3.5 d/c it is pretty light. I don't do the reduced springs on my carry guns because of that.

On the grip, yes you will get used to it. Thousands of cops and military personnel have become accustomed to it, but it is a bit of a high-point. I have one of my Glocks which is reduced, the others aren't. I'm used to it.

Wow. 10mm pressure in a Glock frame? Wear safety glasses. The kaboom factor may be over blown but I own a Glock 27 and have concerns. FWIW, its point of aim improved for me tremendously with XS 24/7 big dots.

Nice shooting…Two things that I cant live with-out for my baby Glock are skateboard tape grip decals and the replacement magazine cap from GAP Enterprises. Both of these tweaks vastly improved my control of the little beast. I have lots of extra skateboard tape, if you want some just PM me and I will drop some in the mail.

I have no experience with Glocks but something about your comment made me wonder regarding the "shooting high" bit:

Are you using a center hold vice a 6 o'clock hold?

It "feels" good, i guess we'll see howit holds up over time. I have some hot rounds on order, the stuff I've shot so far wasn't bad at all

What concerns could you have? The glock in 10mm is the only gun that has not had the problems as the Bren tens, delta elite, s&w. The gun works just like it should.

I would, however, spring for a titanium guide rod Eli, as if you are going to do a bunch of shooting, this will be the only part on the gun that may fail.

Got to love the Glock, and here at BF we would NEVER glock bash...HAHAHAH ok almost made it with out laughing....hahah But seriously Glocks are reliable as heck (IMO)

Woot for 700 posts! And it has guns and knives in the same post WOOT! now I demand more pics!

Rick, i was using a center hold...

Also I would recommend reading the book "living with glocks" by Robert boatman.

Awesome book

Thanks bro, sounds like fun

Coedse --- that tape looks great, is it tough to keep it that straight and clean looking? nice looking gun.

Nice carry pieces there. Just be careful, if you actually have to shoot some one with it, the prosecutor will use the "that round is more powerful than the cops even use" indictment. Which will be followed by the "hollow points are used only for killing people" whine (I am referencing that recent thread on the hiker who shot a man with a 10mm kimber and was convicted of murder).

Nice knife there too. Tell you what, send it my way, and I will send you a Glock.

I'm betting out of the 29's bbl, it slows down sufficiently that "over-kill" can't be used as an argument. Heck, he could argue he NEEDS a 29 over a 23 or 27 b/c of the shorter bbl length. ;)

(It's all in how the lawyer spins it. I'm not a lawyer, but as evidenced by my marital status AND the # of blades I have, I'm a master at spin.)

Oh, and forgo the skateboard tape. I found something more amazing.

That self-stick medical tape. I bot my 5 rolls so many years ago I don't know if it's even the same manf. I think 3M makes it now. A BIT tacky, lasts for YEARS and dangit if it don't give you grip AND a bit of cushion. In fact, you coudl build up a bit extra on the backstrap to help shield the web of your hand.

This stuff:

It used to be hard to find outside of medical places. Now, as you can see, they sell it as sports tape in many colors. Black is preferred.

Great addition to my 2nd-gen G22. I put minor finger grooves on the frame (with small cut out pieces of tape) then built up a good bit of griptape.

I went to SIG School that year. The guys were VERY impressed with it. "Wow. Where did you get this stuff?" Plus I had XS Big Dots on it. I was the hit of the school. :)

There are grip decal kits pre-cut for each specific Glock model. I got mine from the Glockmeister out here in Mesa. However, the kits don’t include the finger groves or the thumb ramp. Those I cut by hand with skateboard tape. It’s not tacky, so it stays reasonably clean. It’s impervious to water and heat. Lastly, its very thin. The last thing I wanted to do was add volume to the frame.

I’ll have to give the sports tape a look. The great thing about all these tweaks is they are Cheap… If you don’t like the skateboard tape or the sports tape. Peel it off and toss it in the garbage.
