It's not an earth shaker.......yet. She's just a bangin away at 87 beats per minute. I'll hook her up to a variable speed setup when my frequency drives get here. Then it will be scarey :D

looks cool let me know how she works on damascus. Unfortunately the ambient temp is so bloody cold here i can't use the little giant and i am just itching i made two billets before it turned sour on me.
 
Ha! I just cleaned it last week. Anytime I do a project , I trash the whole shop in the process.

Carl, The way this is set-up. it's pretty speed-of-stroke dependant. I think I may take the shock out and make a spring for it. Combined with a higher rate of speed, she will rock the house. Definately will beef it up a bit before i go to a higher speed set-up. Mostly wanted something to do mundane tasks like tangs.

Don, The gearhead is a 20:1 ration browning model. I just welded a bolt onto the output shaft sprocket. The gas shock mouts on the bolt.

Mark,Cool hammer.I misunderstood your drawings.I thought you were going to have the lift in the center of the arm.This is less porerful,but more stable. - Stacy
 
Stacy, my original idea was going to be a helve hammer, that's why i had the lift in the middle. decided to go this route so it would be a little faster.
 
COOL I think I'll make one too but by foot power I need the exercise :eek: the hydro is getting to much of my $$$ anyway :D
