Sheath/carry option ideas?

Hey guys I've finished my latest hawk and now I need to make a sheath for it. I like the look of the sheaths that only cover the edge and snap in place, but I want the option to attach to my pack or my belt. I want the sheath to stay on the pack when I pull out the tool so I won't have to fumble around so much pulling it out.

What do you guys do? Show me some different setups and give me some ideas please.

ETA: Oh, I should mention I will be doing this in leather.
