I spotted one of these in a post Bwilson made awhile back. I think it was a "What do you carry" thread or something like that.
Anyways, I figured it couldn't hurt to ask him if he would make another one for me. :D
Well, he gladly accepted my offer and we exchanged some info in a few emails back and forth. I gotta say, Brandon is a super nice guy and completely made this how I wanted, including which way the lanyard ring on the Farmer should face in the sheath!
I told him to take his time and get to it when he could since it was right after the holidays.

I just got it in the mail today!!!!

I freakin' love this thing!
The Farmer snaps into place and the D10 just snugs right in. The whole set up will slide right into a front or back pocket and keep these from sliding around or worse, slipping out of my pocket!
A nice bonus is it's a great way to protect the D10 lens from getting scratched!

Thanks a million Brandon!!!!!

That kydex is pretty sweet. That looks like a good idea for carrying a SAK. I might have to get me one of those.

Great piece of kit. I have a D-10 and its sweet. I was confused when I opened the thread though. For some reason I had expected a David Farmer knife and a flashlight, but when I saw the opening I thought, thats not for a Farmer. Then as I scrolled down I had an, Oh, now thats just sweet moment.

That's a very cool set-up for back pocket carry. I've been using one of those $5 Leatherman Juice clip on sheaths to carry a Farmer and flashlight combo. The Fenix E01's not in the same league as the D10 though. :D

I'm glad you like it Farnsrocket and thanks for the kind words. I'm out of town at the moment but when I get back I have an idea for a neck sheath for the farmer and a firesteel - I'll be sure to post some pics if I can get it to work out.

Awesome, I need something like that, mabye a sheath for a millie and LD10, though those nitecores are pretty sweet!:D
Do you know what the run time is on that D10?

wow, great work! Those two items live in my pocket, unless I'm in bed or the shower. They've worked hard enough to earn a pair of pants by now.. I normally keep them in separate pockets, since the HA-III coating seems to bite the Alox handles. I never foresaw a sheath, but this just looks right.

Will this sheath fit a Tek-Lok?
Inverted for neck carry, I assume these still hold the items secure?
Thanks,

Fonly, the D10 is infinitely adjustable in brightness, so you can really eek out a lot of usable light from it. It has replaced my L1D, due primarily to the smaller sleeker form factor and a lower low; however, I think the Fenix circuitry is just barely more efficient (now lives in the bag), and I also really like that you can purchase a red filter.
Here is a link to a CPF review of the d10, as well as runtimes with various batteries. I prefer rechargeable nimh, specifically eneloops, since that is the battery I've standardized my gear to.

Sorry to bring this back from page 3 but I've been out of town for the last 2 days.

It can be made to fit a tek-lok, it's all in how the holes for the kydex rivets are spaced. And yes, it can be made for inverted neck carry, it's all in how "tight" you form the kydex to fit the items. The Farmer snaps in securely as it has the rivets in the alox scales to form around. The D10, being a round tube without much more than the knurling to form around, has to be formed "tight" in order to carry inverted - but it can be done.

Nice little sheath - I like it!

A note about the D10 - it has a small parasitic drain on the cell even when switched off. That will drain the cell eventually.

Not a problem at all if it sees frequent use but it makes it less useful as a standby light. It must either be left partly unscrewed so that no contact is made, or stored with the cell separate.

Just a heads-up. It's still a very nice flashlight and great for frequent use.

The great thing about these Nitecores is that they feature adjustable brightness (something like 20 or 30 modes, so it functions as infinitely adjustible). The minimum is about 4-5 lumens, and it lasts for about 50 hours on a 2000mAh rechargeable. The maximum is 130 lumens and it lasts for about 1 hour.

I carry the even smaller EX10, which takes CR123 cells or the lithium ion rechargeables... and is substantially lighter, 1cm shorter, and has marginally longer runtimes.

Just keep in mind that without modifications (such as sealing the glass in the head), the light is NOT waterproof, unlike the Fenix models, due to a design oversight. I still carry the light, but I don't have any illusions about using it as a dive light.

Thanks for the heads up about the waterproofness of the D10, I wasn't aware the lens wasn't sealed. I don't plan on submerging it - but it's great info.

BTW - I left my D10 on the lowest setting with a new energizer lithium to see what the run time was - I noticed no difference in the light at all until about 65 hours with light still being emitted until almost 80 hours. I haven't tried it on high but I think they were conservative in their runtime estimates unless they performed them with standard alkaline batteries.
