I got my new rivetsetter and I'm sooo happy with it. :p
Made this one for the martindale golok right away.

I believe that sometimes it can be very practical to add some of these rings. They make excellent attachementpoints for tekloks and beltloops, and can be used for threading some cord through..

Check it out:
First 2 pics are very crappy, but you'll get the idea

Nice looking sheath :D
Not being a wiseacre but I've got to ask.
How do you not cut the sheath when the wide part of the blade goes thru the narrow neck of the sheath?

Those hollow rivets do look handy.

Go figure.
There's no part on the blade that will be able to cut the neck of the sheath, as the part of the blade just below the supposed contacpoint (when drawing) will push the leather out of the way of the cutting edge..

The shape of the blade + the radical grind makes it possible as long as you:
Do not give the blade a zero-edge.
Do not grind it in a recurve.
as long as you don't do that, you are fine.

Cheers,

"supposed contact point"

As I said, I wasn't trying to be a wiseacre.
If it works, more power to you.

I'm only a humble beginner, so I'm eager to learn.

What weight leather is it?

It has been my experience, however, that if a sharp knife nicks the leather once, it will find and deepen that nick over and over again.

"supposed contact point"

the part on the blade that is supposed to make that cut you are envisioning..
"supposed", cause there's no contact between edge and leather, except when you resheath it the wrong way.

What weight leather is it?
it's 3 mm halftanned. very stiff and hard to cut, even with a hobbyknife.

Like I said. Halftanned leather is very hard to cut, even with a hobbyknife.
and to make a cut there must be contact between leather and edge, and there isn't any..

Believe me, it works :D:thumbup:

Or sure....
Go metric on me!

Thanks for clearing that up.
Cheers
:D
