sheath for odd shaped knife

im making a karambit that reflects my horrible ugly angry torn emotions over a recent breakup as part of my grieving process and was wondering what would be the best aproach for making a kydex sheath for it. i was thinking a wrap around type with like 2 or 3 rivets twords the tip and then leaving the rest open so i can slide it in sideways. would that have enough retention? the knife is in the oven for temper right now. the pic is when it came out of the forge. thanks guys.

check out some kukri or machete sheaths, a lot of them have odd shaped blades. they might give you a decent base to build on.
