Welcome to the Cantina Frank!:)

Any suggestions on 'carry options' is very similar to the question of, "What khukuri would you recommend?" Without any idea other than snowshoeing it's difficult to recommend anything.......

Do you want to carry it outside your clothes or underneath?
Do you want it 'quick draw' or other?
Would you prefer cross draw or strong or weak side?
Are you gonna wear it high or low on your body?

I also agree that Terry can make exactly what you want with the guidelines you set so some thought is needed as to how you want to carry the knife and the ease of extraction from the sheath.
I would at least recommend a double point even though they are added work.
The double thickness of leather on front and back gives a great deal of protection from the point if you should happen to fall or even slip badly.
And personally I hate straps and snaps with a vengeance even though sometimes they are a necessary evil.
It's not "IF" your ever gonna cut the strap it's "When"!!!!
And it seems as even the absolute top end high quality snaps get loose or tight or tear out.
The Sammi style or puukko sheath is in my opinion the best ever contrived by man, but is damned nigh impossible to make for a khuk although it may work for a 12" Sirupati with its narrower blade.;) :D

Yusa........
I received a 12 Ang Khola last Jan. from Bill and it immediately replaced my Cold Steel Ranger Scout for my daily snowshoe outings. I think the Khukuri is absolutely beautiful ( and being a student of Vedic culture, the knife became, personally, very significant ) I normally build a small fire on my walks, so the Khukuri worked very well at choping the small, dried pine branches from the trees. The size is nice since I am only 5'6 and around 160. My larger Ang Khola sits on my book shelf, on guard duty, and normally is not allowed outside. The sheath that came with the knife was not as concealable as I normally would like. So, thru this nice forum, I met Terry. The snow will be near my waist in 4 or 5 months and I'll be back in the woods with my khukuri trying to decide which H.I. model will I order next.........Frank
