For a pack sheath, it seems to be exactly what you need. Light weight minimal bulk while still performing the duties of a regular sheath. I would try to incorporate some belt or Rigging On the Boss so you "could" possibly carry in in an accessible location on your person and deploy it with one hand.
I'm not sure if you can in it's current configuration based from the photographs. But great job for creating something to fit your needs!
