I was wondering if you had or were maybe thinking about making a sheath that would hold the rat 6 and maybe the 4,3 or ezula on the side?...That would be sweet....I thought about maybe using cord to lace the klydex sheaths together but I don't know how it would work....any thoughts?

I'd keep my knives seperate.
If you lose one sheath you'd lose both knives.

Someone in the RAT picture thread has done this with an RC-6 and I think an RC-4.

I had one made from leather

or you can use basic hardware from the store and mount the factory sheathes together

Man, Tony...why'd you have to post that up? It always makes me want to buy an RC-5 just to swap the scales with my 6! :p

If anyone's wondering, that TD on the sheath stands for "totally destitute" as in broke from buying so many custom knives and sheaths.:D

It IS an RC-6...but with RC-5 scales. He swapped them (they're the same shape). ;)

I'm in this boat. Don't really see the need to have both knives in the same sheath really. Would rather have the security in knowing that if by some chance your sheath's attachment broke and the entire thing fell of unbeknown to you, you'd still have your other knife safe and sound in its own sheath.

I've never really piggybacked, but I don't see a reason not to. I actually do see some benefit to it, as regards to saving belt space. I'm probably going set up some barkies like this. I don't think it's likely to lose a sheath built like that. And not in any way that you wouldn't notice it.

I have so many blade combo's piggyback it is not funny , not counting single fixed blades with a folder.... been camping, exploring ,hiking for years never lost a single knife much less a piggyback system. To each there own but I like the combo setup ,now you need to consider the weight factor on your belt I usually have it strapped to my Pack and a single blade around neck or on belt.

Yea I've been knocking around and never managed to tear a knife off. I suspose it's possible, but just so unlikely it's not something I worry about. I don't -need- a knife that much anyways. Not like you'd die without it.

And to be honest, my hiking setup is stupid overkill. Folder on body in a pocket usually, a lockback on belt, about a five Inch on my packs belt, a three or four inch on my left shoulder strap, a machete strapped on pack, and either a hachet or full size axe. Getting caught without a sharp edge just never occurs to me.
