Sheath ideas for the new ASH-1 ?????

Maybe Poorguy will chime in with a pic of the Kenny Rowe sheath he bought for the SH1a at Blade. It was originally part of a standard line for the SFNO but, with a few whips of a tool, Kenny had it set for the SH1a.

It looks just like the one I bought for the HOGFSHSE.

Kenny and Cody Rowe hooked me up on this one. It's a bit shiny, but after some use, it'll dull out nicely! Cool pin lock too...

That's a cool sheath Jeepnut!!!

How well does that pin lock work? Does it make its way back in without a jiggle?  :D
No... really... I'm curious.

Also, how about blade retension when latched?

Pin lock works great. I need to file a small burr in the Pin. No jiggling required, but since it is new, the fit is tight. It will loosen a little and be perfect down the road. The blade retention is spot on. No rattling, no movement of the knife at all. Very happy with this one for sure... :)

Thanks!!!

That is some outstanding duct tape drawing. Some of the best I've seen.

Skunk, how many days did it take you to get the mountain scene on there?

If I send you a roll of tape and a shoe box, how much would you charge to make me one?

Rob, you ever get to take that hike up to the top of that hill? Get to try out the ASH1 at all?

I would like to get something like this:

The drop legs are nice. Wish I could find one for my Basic 9.

My SH1 fits the tactical sheaths sold by Scrap Yard Knives (6" model). Those sheaths fit a lot of 6" to 7" knives. The liners on Spec-Ops and Blackhawks are too narrow for the SH1. The SY Sheath fits the Scrapper 6, Yard Guard, Yard Hook (if you notch for the blade catch), M6, MiniMojo, Uncle Mojo, and most 6" to 7" tactical knives. Of course, a knife like the SH1 deserves a pretty sheath, but these fit just fine. Price is $17.95 plus shipping.

Thanks Horn Dog...

That should do the trick until I can find a purdy one.

Keep those suggestions going...

Horn Dog, those sheaths look identical to the ones that come with Ranger knives. Do you have any idea if they are the same or not?

I actually have my RD6 right next to me, and it looks to be the same sheath. I'd have to see the back of the one Horn Dog posted to be sure.

They are very close, but not the same sheaths. The SYKCO sheaths have just a bit wider liner. The sheaths may be made by the same manufacturer, though.

The RD sheaths are "shiny". They appear to have a tighter weave. The ASH-1 will fit the RD-6 sheath, though. The strapping on the backs is the same. I am looking at my RD-7 sheath now. My RD-6 sheath went in a trade. It's in a Spec-Ops sheath made for the Becker BK-7 and its a tight fit. It gets confusing! The Scrap Yard sheath liner is just a bit wider than the Ranger sheath.

Thanks Horn Dog. I have a ASH-1 on it's way (soon I hope :D ) and I'll give it a try in my Ranger sheath. Not sure who I'm gonna have make a sheath yet, but at least if it fits I have something temporary to carry my ASH-1 in.

Dan, I think all the Ranger RDs are the exact same width. My SH-1 goes right in the RD-7 sheath, so it should fit your RD-6 sheath fine.
