Sheath knife/made in japan

This knife has about an 8"blade which has polaris etched on one side of the blade and samuria on the other side.it has what appears to be a plastic handle with polaris on both sides with lanyard hole.Does any of you guys know wether this is a divers knife or a sevival knife and approx year it was made.thanks.

I would say it's a diver's knife probably early 1980s and I don't think that steath came with the knife . but is just my opinion .

That was my thought as well .The sheath does have a Japanese appearance to it and it's kind of stiff and was wondering if it was thin plastic under the camouflage material.?
