You'll find Tandy's leather inconsistant in thickness and stain reception (hard and soft spots), not to mention the price per sq. ft.
Sandy Morrissey put me on to Siegel of California, no regrets in dealing with them. There are many other quality suppliers out there try the "search" function. Tandy has become my last choice for many reasons not just their quality/price on leather.

I just finished watching, for the first time, your sheath making video. It was
just fanastic. I borrowed it from the MKA but think I'll go buy one
for myself. I'm sure I'll be watching it many more times :D

I had one quick question for you. I tried looking at the Wickett webiste
for the chestnut leather but did not find it. Are you using the tooling
leather (8-10oz) or some other type?

Best regards,

Bye-the-bye, were in Colorado are you located and how often
do you offer your classes? Do you that information on your website?

thanks, I"ll give Wicket & Craig a shot. I've been using Muir McDonnald but their thickness seems to verry quite a bit on the 8-10 oz .

Howdy Dana -
First glad you liked the DVD.
Two - the chestnut leather is a color it's available in an any of the types for $ .15 a sq/foot extra. I use the tooling leather for sheaths - I pay extra for the backs which are even cleaner than shoulders - NO Belly leather at all (shoulders can often have some, not much but some).
Also I would check with the folks at Mid-Continent since they sell the W/C leather at the same price as the factory and the shipping will be less since they are closer to home - home for me is Durango. Unfortunately right now I do not have any place to hold classes.......
Since your in Colorado you may want to check out Colorado Leather 719-633-8722. Their store is in the Springs. They sell lots of types of leather including 9/10 oz shoulders that are very nice (not quite as nice as W/C but about an 8.5-9 compared to W/C's 10.0)

Hi Chuck I contacted Mid Continent a couple weeks ago about the W/C leather, and they told me they did not carry it??

Where is a good place to buy snaps? Tandy has flimsy soft ones that look cheap. I want quality not good prices.

check tandy's website and maybe they have a store in your area. i prefer to buy at stores when i can. otherwise shop for price on the net

Weaver Leather Co. out of Ohio, think I'm paying about $3.50 a square foot for double shoulders in 9oz. They're going to want your tax number though.
