sheath question

Shavru, there is nothing to see, to lay the blade on the sheath it looks like there is plenty of room. down toward the tip I had to force the bade it so I sanded in side. what do you want to see, if I can I will send pics. The only thing now is when I remove the knife it will be covered with dust but small price to pay

Ah, sorry for the misunderstanding. I wasn't expecting to see how to resolve anything. The pictures were just as an offering to help us poor sufferers of HIKV. Some of us are living vicariously and pictures of Khuks we don't own yet always help sooth the pain of withdrawals :D No worries!

Here is what I did, First as was suggested I pulled back the leather in the throat, do this carefully because it can be dry and brittle. Then I worked down the wood with knife and file. When I made clearence there and the knife still stuck I looked deeper. when I slowly inserted the knife I noted how much knife was outside of the scabbard when it grabbed. I then tried various file but none were long enough, I figured the stoppage was in the lower 3rd of the scabbard. I then glued some 60 grit sand paper to a long shade stick, I used gorilla glue but others will work as well. I kept working the sand stick back and forth until the knife worked easy in and out.

this seems to be a classic example of the maker was in a hurry, I had to remove too much material for it to be tight leather. Oh well it works now, on to the next project that comes in a week or so when L get my kukri from AC
