Sheath, Vintage, With Twin Slots: What Goes/Went Into It?

Tight fit for the long blades for the snap to work and I imagine that the blade guards would need to be on the blades, in order to keep the point and cutting edge from destroying the sheath, thereby making the guarded blade a bit longer/bulkier. I should buy it and try it...

I have been watching this thread and trying to think of anything that the sheath might fit. My guess would be that someone came across an unused Buck snap somehow and used it on a homemade sheath.

Just my thoughts. :)

I am going to put my tent in the selector blade and home-made camp. I agree that the greatest indication was the snap was creatively recycled. I big game hunt with my orange selector in its nylon sheath, with a gutting blade and saw blade, in their protectors, jammed in back. I would like to have the drop point skinner blade but I don't think it will fit. If I find one that doesn't cost more than the knife did, I will retire the saw blade and just carry a folding saw. If Buck came up with a couple hundred vintage sheaths like this one I would have to have it.........300
