Just wanted to show off the pics of the new sheath for the Seax I finished this weekend. I also sanded down the rather large handle, and put on a few coats of Watco's Danish Oil. After I got the sheath stitched I wanted to do a wax/oil treatment to them. I had read of a neat solution to this messy step in the makers section of BF. I went to Goodwill and bought an old croc pot. I put the wax and oil in and an hour later all was melted. I could easily submerge the smaller sheath in the wax completely. The other two I had to ladle the wax into the sheaths. Then I heated them with a heat gun till the wax soaked into the leather. When I was done I unplugged the croc pot, waited for the wax to cool and solidify, and stored it in the garage. Next time all I do is take it out and plug it in. This solution saves a LOT of mess in the house where I get yelled at for "dumb" messes. Any pics of the results below. Enjoy!
