Well one is for a David Farmer and the other is a SAK Farmer.

I like this knife. Nice zircote handles on it. Best thing about making sheathes is I get to check out lots of knives.

This sheath is set up for vertical or horizontal carry with firesteel loop.

One thing that bugs me about carrying a slipjoint in my pocket is all the grit and who knows what that gets stuck in them. I think next I'll make a pouch for my 2 layer Farmer that can hold a firesteel also.

Cloudy today so the color doesn't show up too well. :grumpy:

They really look great.

How would one learn how to fit a sheath around a knife and do some decoration. (I love the texturing you did for the first one.)

Any good links? Thanks.

Very Nice! I wonder how the lines would look if you rounded the bottom of the SAK sheath.

Great Job bro, I'm gonna have to get one of your verticle carry/ horizontal carry sheaths.:D Maybe for the Farmer Buschraft I have on order;)

I feel this question must be repeated...

As far as info there are a lot of good links on the web. Here are some.

The Leathercraft forum here has some info. http://www.ramanon.com/forum/index.php?referrerid=7087

A basic google search for things like "how to make sheathes" or "tooling leather" will give some good results.

Also just pop in to the sheath forum on this site.

Anyways here is the pocket sheath I made for my 2 layer SAK Farmer and firesteel. It's small enough that I don't really notice it but it keeps the gunk out of the SAK.

It's a little wrinkly since I was concentrating more on forming around the knife while the leather was wet. I didn't form the firesteel portion until after it was cemented and had dried a bit.

Thank you sincerely for the links. That tutorial you linked to is just what I was looking for to get started.

Now I've got to get to the craft store to get some leather! Thanks again.

Got this today. This is the first of Bruce's (Ilbruche) sheaths that I have aquired, but it won't be the last. The craftsmanship edges into the area of artistry. If you have any particularly valued knives you can not go wrong having it fitted with a sheath of this caliber. I feel his prices are more than reasonable for this level of work. Heck, maybe next time I will request an Ilbruche sheath and then find a knifemaker/knife worthy of filling it!:D
Also the Farmer Bushcraft is a great knife w/ very comfy ergonomics/handling. David's craftsmanship is improving, the only constant being that his edges are scary freakin' sharp. He is really one to watch as he seems to be coming up w/ many new and innovative designs right now.
Ilbruche and DF, this is a good match.
