Hello and thanks in advance for any and all suggestions. My friend is obsessed with the mighty Sheepsfoot. I have been trying to help him find some traditional folders with the Sheepsfoot as the primary blade or at the very least one of two blades and coming up pretty short. He doesn't seem to want to go into anything larger than two blades and doesn't really care what pattern, although he seems to share my taste for the sway back and the barlowe. American manufacturer's are what he is looking for, but I don't think he'll mind some suggestions from abroad if they are what he wants. As an aside, I've been pondering the sway back Jack and his second favorite blade is the wharncliff, so any wharnies other than the jack and the gent are also welcome.

Thanks again,
Justin

Two bladed knives with a sheepsfoot blade are few and far between. You just missed one in the slipjoint exchange.

There are a lot more options with a Wharncliffe blade. The Swayback Jack is a very popular knife on this forum and rightfully so. That just might be the knife you're looking for.

GEC makes a few two bladers with a Wharncliffe.

I like this old Case 02245 but there aren't many of them around.

GEC EZ-Open #25 is a small single blade. Not sure what your price range is but these are $75-$100. Really nice and lots of options for scales.

Look at the Case 52052 half congress if the loom fixer seems a little too big.

You guys are great, thanks for all the suggestions. I think I need to add the loom fixer and that #25 to my list after the SBJ and I'm more of a locking folder guy. As usual Blade Forums is responsible for my wishlist far outstripping my wallet.:D

Regarding Wharncliffes, unless you want to spring *heh* for the (IMO) best factory version available, the Case/Bose Norfolk, I'd go with a GEC #62 in a hot minute, though the somewhat less costly Case Swayback in CV would also be a fine choice.

Here's an old comparison pic including the SBJ, a GEC #61 Half Congress (3rd knife) and a #62 Courthouse Whittler (3 blade version of the one Rick posted above)

Edit: Here's a GEC #53 Furtaker Trapper. Its the same size as the last knife in the above pic.

Your friend might want to Google "Wright of Sheffield".
Sheepsfoot and Wharncliffe blades seem to be very common on English pocket knives.

Some one beat me to it. The GEC furtaker, fur trapper Gec improved muskrat, Gec Congress (the model with the 3 different blade sizes is my favorite looking one of that pattern). GEC Sleeveboard, GEC Gepetto whittler.

Lots of great stuff.

This has been my EDC for nearly two months and I'm finding there's not much I can't do with a wharncliffe blade. I also like the GEC 61 half congress with the sheepsfoot blade (2nd pic). Another I like is the single blade 25 barlow with the sheepsfoot blade.

How about a GEC Weaver Jack? They come in single ,two blades and an outlandish THREE blade configuration-I believe.

Schatt&Morgan's English Jack that I have in wormbone, the XVIII series 2008 is a big knife with a behemoth Sheepfoot as Master, big enough Pen as deputy blade too.

GEC used to make them in the little 25 series.
You may be able to find one like mine if you search all the GEC distributor from their Distributor list

Here's a single blade weaver jack. I'd call it a modified hawkbill/pruner blade. It's almost too much of a good thing, IMO for every day carry and cutting tasks.
