Splendid Bakelite handled IXL, George Wostenholm built in Sheffield, England for the American market. Good working condition, plenty of blade life left, good action no wobbles. Lots of great details on this one, splitback spring w/ brass wedge and double brass liners w/ inners relieved for blade clearance, unsharpened hollow-ground punch, thick main spearpoint blade with "I*XL" stamp on mark side and "Oil the Joints" on pile tang, slanted nickel silver bolsters, pins, and Catt shield. Pitting very clearly shown in photos, no rust.
I'd date this to the late 20's or early 30's, best guess. Waycool piece of cutlery history, methinks somebody Waynorth is a fan. For Sale $125 tyd or might trade for *equally* cool vintage splitback or single spring.
