Shelter building request.

Man, that is awesome. Your a hard ass worker!!!
My lazy ass would just cover a tent with moss.

Sorry you have to hide just to set up a camp site. Don't look like they will be catching you though

Nice work mate. That looks like a pretty warm shelter. That sucks about the laws, but just be careful and don't get caught..

Great post JurT. Glad to see you get to ignore useless laws. Hope you never get caught. Losing that knife would be a bummer to say the least. Stay sharp.

Nice and warm looking! Don't get caught and have the SHSH confiscated!:grumpy:

Nice pics! Like the others said, I'm glad you don't listen to them when they say you can't do what humans have done for over 200,000 years!

If you see people coming, hurry up and chuck your knives into some brush nearby so they can't take it. Maybe keep a decoy on hand so they take it instead. Some 5 dollar knife. haha Just hopefully you can find the busses later. I guess a lost Busse is better than a confiscated Busse. :)
You can always go back a look for it.

Very sweet setup! Thank You for showing this! I've been waiting.;)

On another note, my boss and his best friend are headed to London in August, for the World Beard Championship. They will have their regular stopover in Amsterdam, with some folks from MTV. I'm trying to get in on this trip as security, and hope to see some of the outdoors, since I don't partake in what these guys come for anymore. Maybe I can hunt down one of your awesome shelters.

I've had my eye on that particular SH2 for a while...at least I can rest easy knowing that it went to a good and loving home. ;)

Great pics and nice tutorial, Jurt!!

:D :D

Thats a wicked shelter... reminds me of my days growing up a small boy in the English Countryside... :)

PS - agreed, those camping rules SUCK!

JurT,

Great job on that shelter.

A similar approach/design to the one I made while on vacation in Kauai..... minus a few branches and that moss/grass ..... then again, the moss/grass was not needed in the warm weather..... fun time just the same.

Thanks for sharing the photos!!

mymindisamob: If you're coming to A'dam you're more then welcome at my place:thumbup: Then you can hold my SFNO's;) :D

360joules: That SH II is really an awesome knife. I like it even more with the swedge on it:cool:
Pics don't do justice on this beauty..!!

RedWolfHowlin: Yes this shelter is warm of it's own. If you're in a warm pleace you don't have throw alot of grass on the shelter. Maybe a small layer of leafs. Yes it's alot of fun building those shelters but it's also alot of hard work.

Take care,

Jur

Jur,

Yea, simply used a few branches for the frame and then laid palm branches over them for coverage..... to simply keep the rain out.

It was a blast sleeping on the beach!! ;)

Thank you very kindly! If (and it is a BIG if) I get to go, I'll PM you and let you know. It would be cool to meet an International Busse Star!;) :D :D

All you Holland guys are welcome in Oregon where you can build all the shelters you want. :D
That shelter is awesome. I like how you have wind breaks extending from the front on both sides of the shelter. I'm gonna have to try your design.
