Shelter Contest Question

My question is this are urban shelters permissible in this contest? I ask because Tony said

and right now I'm not sure how much woods time I will be able to get in but since I am in a metropolitan area I will have a much better chance at A) needing an urban shelter at this point and B) having a chance to build one.

And for those who may think that the need for an improvised Urban shelter should not count or is not a survival skill Just look at what is going on in Japan right now or what happen down south with Katrina.

If it's anything like the last shelter contest, the only rule was there were no rules! :D
 
Jeff has said (during the last contest as well as this one) to do it well. The more you put into it the better chance you have of winning.

It needs to be effective. Making a shelter out of a turned over VW is cool, but if it's not warm and dry than you probably won't score as high.

Make it right, whatever you make it out of. :thumbup:
 
Damn, this is getting way too freakin' confusing.
 
Why do we always have to asked so many detailed questions? Tony's rules are what they are. Like Adam said, doing something extra won't hurt your chances.
 
It's a shelter. Regardless of what you do, where you do it, or how you do it, you're going to learn something. That's the most important part.
 
If so many questions have to be asked, it seems to me you dont need a shelter if SHTF becuse you WILL NOT SURVIVE!!!!:rolleyes:.
How are you going to survive if you need your hand held the whole way along... When and If SHTF we all wont be strolling in the woods, so make it as you will have to survive wherever that may be......
These good folks makeup Kool contests for us to have fun and learn from and not too mention give us Great products and we have to riddle them with questions...???? WHY

Didn't ask anyone to build the F@#$ING shelter for me just wanted to know if it had to be in the "woods" or not. Never seen anyone post up an improvised urban shelter and if I'm going to take the time to do this just want to make sure I'm not going to be disqualified.

Hell at this point don't really care if I'm disqualified or not for building an urban shelter as doing so will be useful skill for me to have, and I'm just going to do anyways.

Knowledge is survival and one of the best ways to learn something by asking questions, another is by doing things. I simply asked a question before doing something.

D@mn people here are really good at going off the topic of the original post.
