Shenanigan or ripple?

Make sure your fingers are not touching or putting pressure on the frame. Keep fingers over pocket clip or above. Try that. Should flip easily.

I got one of the high end Acuto Ripples about 2 days ago,,,,, very disappointed! The only way to use the flipper to open it is to use the edge of a table or such and press hard! For the price it shouldn't have any QC problems like this. I have made in China Kershaw flippers costing $20 that are smoother out of the box than this high end CRKT Ripple!!!!! I'm sure there are fine ones out there but I sure got one that needs some work. If it'll smooth up I'll keep it!

If you got it off ebay thats why. A few of the sellers have some pretty poor examples and The pivots were packed with a ton of grease to try and hide the flaws. If you got it from a reputable dealer I would just return it. The newer ones are supposed to be a serious improvement. The older blue ones seemed to have the most issues. Though many have them without issue.
 
Got it off Amazon,,,,,,,, maybe same difference but most of my purchases there are great! I did wash out a little brown stuff? Rust? This is the 1st order I have from them with no return ticket!!!????? Not sure of origin ,,,,,think maybe knife works? I'll have to check? If I hold it in one hand and apply pressure on the flipper with the other it will open,,,that's some improvement but not great!
 
I don't have the Ripple, nor have I held one. I did get the Shenanigan though, and it is very nice. Flips all the way open without having spring assist. Feels quite sharp after just a bit of stropping. I don't know how well it will hold the edge, but I am pleased with it so far.
