Well,

You fellas know I have been awaiting my Tamboti Sebenza with it's notorious poison scales: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1157643-quot-poison-quot-sebenza-inbound.

I thought I'd take some glamour shots while she is new and pristine. I have to say this knife was worth the wait! I love it. It is really the right mix of subtle and sublime for me, and is my favourite CRK purchase so far. I bought it with the intention of committing it to hard use, but I might need to work up to that  . I am sure she will get her share of nicks and dings once the honeymoon is over. I really like how the gold hardware is a dark bronze colour, not a real bright gold. Also this knife was the sharpest knife I have every received from CRK. Whomever was doing the sharpening on November 15th, 2012 deserves a promotion (unless it was the boss :D)

Very interestingly.....this knife does smell very strongly of Tamboti (African Sandalwood). It doesn't just smell a bit, but quite a lot, including the box it came in, and the polishing cloth it was wrapped in. So much so that you notice it without looking for it, even sometimes when you take it out of your pocket. It's a very pleasant smell, sort of a woody/cedar/incense kind of aroma. I am thinking this smell might wear off, but the knife was born in November 2012, so maybe not. In that case wow! I can see why they make perfume out of this stuff.

Anyways....I didn't die when I opened the box, so you'll have to put up with more rambling posts from me for now. Maybe the effects of the Tamboti poison are delayed, in which case it's been swell knowing you all :).

I will say it was worth the wait, for the both of us :-). Very stunning and I agree about the gold. Great pictures!! So glad you did not die, do you have a will ? No never mind :-).

She's a real looker Cody. I'm glad the wait is over, now you can use her to your hearts content.

Great pics as well, is Dave giving photography lessons on the down low?;)

Also looking forward to some aging pics as they progress.

Thanks for your kind words Dave.:).....you'll run out of Ti knives to collect eventually, and when you do the multiple flavours of wood inlays might start calling ;). I also hear ya on the plain slabbed knives. There are days when I pick up my plane-jane Insingo and think "that's all ya need".

When I get the courage to thump on it, I'll post picks for sure.

You are in the will Birdhunter and will get this knife.....I'm just not sure that you are allowed to will someone the murder weapon? :D

Those inlays have great color. I really like those a lot. I agree with you on the gold hardware. I think it looks great. Like an aged brass/copper color. It's definitely not a bright gold. Congrats on the great knife.

I'll take it!!!

Just amazing. I do like the inlayed Sebenzas, but i just kinda like the plain ones more. Well, this one really has me changing my mind now, just beautiful wood, looks great with the dark gold, and great pics. Thanks for sharing.

I read that it takes 3 to 4 days for the Tamboti oils to effect the nervous system of a human being. So, you should be good for another day or two at least...enjoy that knife for now, and send her this way when you start feeling dizzy. I'll take good care of her don't worry

Thanks for sharing.
