Shield Selection 2

I have two new shields and the acorn shield that I have used for years.

Please number them 4, 5 and 6, if you go to: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=628340&highlight=shields you will see the first three that I put up. If you strongly prefer one of those over any of these three than please say so. thanks for your help.

I like the traditional looking stuff on folders. The skull doesn't do much for me.

I hope you don't mind but I merged all six shields in to one image and numbered them. I have one large pic and also a reduced size pic that is closer to actual size.

4 (shield) is good, 6 (acorn) is good, I don't like 5 (skull).
The only one of the original three I really liked was 1 (shield) but the others aren't deal-breakers.

I have several A.G. Russell slipjoints with the acorn, I love it. Keep that one.
The number 2 shield is quite nice. Lose the skull though. :thumbdn: Keep that for the mall ninjas and Harley Davidson knives.

I think slippies are about gentelmanlyness and tradition. No skulls please. Keep them for the cambat/tactical knives.. Just my opinion.

Given the new lineup, and for a workingman’s knife, my choices would be 4, 6, 3, 2, 1, 5. 4 and 6 are both great. Dump the skull.

My top three would be 2,6,4.

I like pretty much all of them, I'm not 100% number 5 is supposed to be a skull, either way it resembles one and doesn't really do it for me.

I'm not crazy about the death's-head shield either.

Personally, every one besides 5 & 1 (too pointy) work for me, although I like 4 and 6.
Might I ask what these utility slipjoints will be like? Design? Handle material? Country of origin? Blade steel? Price? Any information you have would be greatly appreciated.

I can't help but love that acorn. It's adorable and looks so nice when placed on black micarta handles. The contrast of that shiny acorn on the handle really stands out.

I'm also not a huge fan of the skull, but I think it could be a fun one in a themed piece, especially if eye sockets could be added (it's difficult to "read" the image without them). The acorn is classy, but commonly found...I actually like the kite shield a lot. It's very clean and seems to leave enough room to actually be used for engraving initials, which I believe was one of the original purposes for them, correct?
