Shinola Manhattan Knife

You could sew a scrap of denim onto your jeans to have sort of a pocket that covers pocket clips, then as long as a knife is deep carry it won't be seen.

For this particular knife of course you can just remove the clip, I don't like flippers but this knife does look good.

It's a bit too needle-y of a tip for me to call it classy, but I do appreciate the irony of the name vs laws of the namesake.

JK Rowling gonna sue somebody over that pocket clip, though.

I like this knife. The shape reminds me alot of the Feist in some ways. I think this would have been wicked as a front flipper.

I have heard horrible things about the qc of the last Shinola with BM. Youtube reviewer Nick Shabazz claims that upon visiting the Shinola store near him to look at their knives, only 3 out of 10 didn't have qc issues he deemed catastrophic. (Beyond just blade centring issues)

I doubt Benchmade will be making this knife. Does anyone know who will be?

Hey Anthony!
I think you might want to remove that Link brother.
Don't think Shinola is a dealer here.
Joe

This is a cool looking little framelock that oozes sophistication. The irony, however, is that NYPD would arrest you if they saw that pocket clip while you were being hip in Manhattan.

Ha, its totally the same kind of lightening bolt.
And if you look at the knife just right, squint, and make sure you're drunk...ect the knife kind of looks like a magic wand :D

I find it classy. Also, I'd like to find an opportunity to support Zieba since he's a local guy. However, I have way too many knives on the "Want to Buy" list already. A knife really needs to separate itself from the pack to crack that list and I'm not sure another titanium framelock does it.

Does it have a hidden shoe polishing brush in it somewhere? :D

Actually, that is a very clean, simple design. Very nice.

Nice simple looking knife with the full ti, I have a ms2 on the way with the harpoon blade and black g10.

That knife is made by Mike Zeiba, not Benchmade.

Edit: Seems like Zieba is actually building these. I wonder how that is going to work. Still 300$ for this guy....I don't know.

It is a sexy little knife. I like these little knives more and more these days. If it was a front flipper I would probably want to try it out.

I wonder if all the screws will align the way they do in the photo. Seeing some other images I am guessing, no...

The body of the knife reminds me of the Kwaiken.
I think it's a really nice looking knife.

Love the design. I’ve been a fan of the MS2 for some time and this seems to improve on it with full ti scales and upgraded blade steel. Should be a solid enough choice for an EDC.

I saw a few similar knives on his table, all were slick and well made. They reminded me of a 21st century version of the ole Bechmade Bogeszwiki Spike.

I have a Zeiba just like that, but carbon fiber handle. Good knife! Aeb L steel as well! Good action and lockup. It is a bit small for me though. I like small knives, but this one is very small.

wow. i'm curious if the shinola in soho will carry this knife. both of the benchmade shinolas were in stock at the soho store, and both of those knives are "gravity knives" that you could get arrested for as you walk out the door with them. nypd could also "raid" the store if they wished to.

**Edit: i'm an idiot, it's already released. i'm definitely going to check it out in the metal at said store :D i'm a big fan of zieba's designs, if it were a front flipper, i would have 100% been buying it

that's what i said (about wanting it in a front flipper)! his MS1 model is a front flipper, this shinloa is just a sexier titanium version of his MS3. i will be trying it out over the weekend. if anyone cares, i'll report back with impressions. the feist definitely reminds me of his knives, not sure which came first since Justin's Feist had a prototype way before the kizer version, and the Ziebas have also been around for a while. this G1 probably resembles the fiest the most
