Shiny G10 Layer

This may have been covered somewhere before but I can't find it. I am making custom G10 scale and it has the shiny coating. I really like the look but I want to know if it will last through use or will it disappear over time. If it is going to disappear can I keep it by using a clear epoxy protection layer?

If you sand it to 1500-2000 and buff it then it will shine.

Are you using it for liners or the whole handle?

Just about anything will shine if you polish it enough. Take it through the grits like Matt recommended, and buff with some scratchless compound.

Like anything, once it's handled, rubbed on, and used enough, the shine will start to dull, but it should be fairly easy to bring it back out with a quick buff.
